5 stars because this is one of those books that has something exciting going on with nearly every page. Very difficult to put down, great characters, a series true to the first book and clearly a lot of work by the authors to create a great on-going series!Can't wait for the next book! The story does not deviate from realities and contain probabilities and no zombies, etc!

I really didn't think I was to the end and will be looking forward to episode six. The reason for four stars instead of five is typos. Keep up the good work Joe.
This installment was okay, but not my favorite. There're good adventure/apocalypse writers and then there're good romance writers. You've got to be quite an author to write both in the same story. Nobody's no James Michener (sp?), and it shows. But, all in all, it's a good book and it's worth reading.
Some more traveling problems for Jack in New Mexico besides being out of water. I enjoy the way the stories start with background on the group's he meets, why they are the way they are in this disaster endurance.
I've become spoiled in this world of instant gratification. I was able to binge read these first 5 books, but now I'm hooked and stuck waiting for the next episode... dang it Joe, you're as bad as a crack dealer! Keep up the good work!
I initially liked this series but as time went by thought it got a little repetitive. You know,the wonderful humanitarian saving each community he comes to. Add to that the added needless sidetracks that are just page fillers. I may not get the remaining episodes.
It is not the most well written book, but I like the characters and the scenario. I like to think of myself as a person who’s is learning to be prepared to be able to survive in the case of a shtf end of the world as we know it situation. I like how various people can survive
